newborn session information
- When should I reserve my session?
-
While Kristin can occasionally accommodate last minute bookings, Kristin only takes on 10 due dates per month so it's best to reserve your session in the second trimester to ensure that you can reserve a spot!
- Where is the studio located?
-
Kristin has a 1,000sq ft studio located in in Sea Girt, NJ.
- How do I schedule if I don't know when my baby will be born?
-
Kristin only takes on 10 due dates per month to ensure that she can have ample availability for clients when it's time for their session. Once the session is reserved, Kristin will send you a session guide with all of the information on how and when to schedule!
- How old should baby be for the session?
-
Ideally, in order to get those sleepy poses that everyone loves, it's best to have the session when baby is 5-18 days old. Babies over 3 weeks tend to have a difficult time falling into a deep enough sleep to pose them.
- My baby is already 2 weeks, can I still book?
-
Absolutely! Kristin does her best to accommodate last minute bookings. While it may be more difficult to achieve those sleepy posed images, Kristin is a master swaddler and will create beautiful images with her extensive and timeless prop collection.
- Can I schedule on a weekend?
-
All newborn sessions are taken Monday-Thursday at 9:30am (or between 9:30-1:00 for newborn mini sessions) at Kristin's studio, with no exceptions. In order to accommodate parents that have returned to work and/or siblings that are in school, Kristin offers a split session option for families to return in the afternoon or evening for an additional $75.
- Can I bring my own props to the session?
-
Kristin provides everything that you'll need for your session! Outside props are strongly discouraged in an effort to maintain the seamless workflow that Kristin has worked so hard to achieve. Every single prop, wrap, bonnet, and headband that you see in Kristin's portfolio is available for all clients.
After you reserve your due date, Kristin will send you a thorough prep guide which will give you all of the information that you need to best prepare for your session as well as a questionnaire where you can select your props, accent colors, requested shots, etc.. If you're not the creative type (or just too tired to care), leave it all up to Kristin and watch her make magic! :)
- Do I receive the high-resolution photos?
-
Yes! Each collection is all-inclusive, meaning you receive the amount of high-resolution images as per the number listed in each collection. You'll always have the option to purchase additional images if you'd like with no pressure or obligation whatsoever. A print release is included so you can print anywhere at any size.
- I'm ready to book! What do I do now?
-
If you haven't contacted Kristin yet, please do so here. A $250 deposit is due to reserve your due date. Kristin will go through all of the logistics with you and send over a digital contract and invoice for a deposit. Once those are complete, your session is officially booked!
